Windows Live Wave4 Test wird nächste Woche erweitert

Microsoft weitet den Beta Tests der Windows Live Wave4 weiter aus. Wie Mary Jo Foley berichtet, soll es schon in den nächsten Wochen soweit sein.

Microsoft will be rolling out sometime in the next few weeks to a small group of select testers the “Wave 4″ versions of the new Hotmail, Live Messenger and Windows Live Essentials, Jones said in an April 21 blog post.

Windows XP User werden sich wenig freuen können, den wie Chris Jones im Windowsteamblog erklärt:

[…] Windows XP is nearly 10 years old and simply doesn’t provide the same level of platform support for graphics, and we recognized early in our work on Wave 4 that we could do much more in our software on a modern graphics platform.  As a result our new version of Essentials will require the new graphics platform and controls that are only available on Windows 7 or Windows Vista and therefore will only run on these platforms.

Wer also weiterhin Windows XP nutzt, kann die neuen Windows Live Essentials nicht nutzen, Microsoft wird aber die aktuellen Windows Live Produkte für Windows XP User weiter zum Download bereit halten.
